Love this. Really relate to it. I also take it so personally when someone unfollows me. It stings. Working on it!

I JUST did this to two people on Facebook last week or the week before and my mental capacity is sooooo much better. They weren’t friends- we kept each other on our friend list as a convenience thing so I made the first move. For me, seeing them in my friend list hurt my mental state more than the not talking to them did. You just have to weigh the positives and negatives sometimes I guess

Ugh, the worst. Social media lacks the actual community ties that make actions like this difficult. I find that as I age I have less space for ties too because of this sort of stuff.

I feel you. It’s a kick in the ass and the heart. I get unfollows constantly, and then new follows take their place - although I don’t think I know any of them (I don’t investigate because it’s not worth it. I’m sensitive af too and it’s better to not know).

Worse is Substack unsubscribes. Not common but a couple people I know dropped out.

I guess it’s good you know how this person feels so you won’t waste any time on them. I personally love your content - you’re contributing to the world in a positive way and it’s something to feel good about 💗

Yeah, I think us both being writers and sharing our life, people feel all kinds of ways. I really don't care about the people I don't know, but the ones I do it's more complicated.

Appreciate you
